Week 5

Possum is 4 years 4 months

Chicken is 2 years 2 months

This week we took a break from the literature, but kept on with the garden theme.

We started the week by making “dirt play dough” – homemade playdough with a good helping of cocoa included.

The boys loved helping me make this.  They love any cooking and this, they felt, was something special.

It was such a hit!  They played with it all day.  I had some pebbles and flower pots and little silk flowers for them to use with the playdough.  (Thank you, Mari-Ann at Counting Coconuts for the idea.)

The big problem with this – and you should be warned, lest you try it, – is that the kids developed a lovely, chocolatey fragrance.  It was all I could do not to sneak in and devour them during rest time!

In fact, they loved this playdough so much, that they had to take it to Nana’s house to show her and tell her all about making it, too.

It was amazing the games the games they invented.  They planted seeds.  They harvested potatoes.

They hid all the stones in the playdough, rolled it up, and went on an excavation.

And of course, Chicken made cakes.  Chicken always makes cakes!
