Embrace the Camera – 17th August

August 17, 2011

Possum is 5 years 3 months

Bandicoot is 3 years 1 month

Possum is a budding photographer.  He is forever taking the camera and snapping all sorts of shots around the house, chronicling our real actual life, not the edited one I am planning on remembering.  Bandicoot is now doing the same.  I will do a photo collage of some at some point.

Anyway, this week’s Embrace the Camera shot comes to you, courtesy of the boys photography:

Yup, that’s me, taken from under the desk.  Funny thing is, I am sitting in that position right now, in between typing.  I must do it a lot.

I have to say, the thing that struck me most about this pic when I first saw it was that I have no wounds on my chin.  Not that I should have, mind, but with a house run by three under-school-age kids, generally chins have knocks, scrapes and bruises.

Oh look!  And you can even see the freckle on the palm of my hand!

Friendship Bracelet Swap – Super Postman!

August 15, 2011

Okay, I admit it.  Once I had been surprised once, my hopes were raised.  I tried to pretend that I wasn’t stalking the letterbox, but truthfully, I was.  After all, if one parcel could arrive from the US ahead of schedule, surely two could, right?

Still I was stoked when I found this:

IMG_0772 Woo hoo!  Sandy sent me TWO bracelets!! I AM a lucky girl.

And they look so pretty on, too:

Here are the three together:

IMG_0779  Don’t the colours go well together?  Well I think they do.

Happy, happy, happy!

Embrace the Camera – 12 August

August 12, 2011

Wow!  When I decided to do this, I underestimated how hard it could be to get a photo of myself each week.  So how about this one:

Actually, I only have one head.  The other one belongs to Bandicoot.

Friendship Bracelet Swap – the Tyranny of Distance

And there I was, all mopey.  I was thinking about all those lucky swappers in the US who would have a fist full of colour right now.  I new that it would probably take a couple of weeks to receive a parcel from America, and probably a couple of months from Canada, but *still* it would be nice…

It would be nice if just by some chance I went to the letterbox and there was something there…

Maybe a little something like…

Thanks, Mel!
